Today I Learned How To Manipulate Images without using Photoshop

Happy weekend y’all! Spring has finally sprung here in NC. The amount of pollen in the air is insane, but since it’s no longer cold, I can’t complain.  Plus, I love yellow (not allergies, though).  Anyways….

After attending Making Things Happen, I asked some of the girls that I met which printers they recommended for shop/ marketing materials like business cards, postcards, stickers and tags and told me about 48hourprint.com so I checked it out and found that their prices were great (especially compared to what I was looking at spending before) and who doesn’t love to save some money? So with the logo that I just had made, I went to work creating tags for LaMaLu Boutique! (I just love saying it (and by saying it, I mean typing it)).

I figured out exactly what I wanted to get and added it to my cart.  What I really loved about 48HourPrint, was that I could see a proof once I finally uploaded the image – but to upload the image, I had to figure out how to crop the image to 2.25 x 2.25 with 300 dpi (phew). And did I mention that my sweet graphic designer friend is out of town this weekend?  Since I don’t have Photoshop, it turned into quite the feat, I had to find an online photo editor, I ended up using pixlr.com and then because of the width of the image, I decided to divide the logo up and reformat it as such:

LaMaLu Boutique Let me tell you, it was quite the learning experience but I have to say, for free software, Pixlr.com, is great.  So long story short: I did it! and the tags should be here next week – I can’t wait to show you.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! I have some more boutique shopping to do.  Let me know what you would like to see in the boutique.
